What this site is

Bulk & Business covers one narrow subject properly: Amazon Business accounts and Business Prime memberships, for a US audience. What they cost, what is free, what each paid tier adds, and — the part most guides skip — who should not buy them.

It exists because of something we noticed while researching the topic. Almost every page ranking for these questions is content marketing for a different product. They answer the question competently and then point the reader at business banking, shipping software, a listing tool or an agency. The reader's actual next step — deciding about the Amazon account itself — is unserved on the very page that ranks for it.

We are the page whose subject is the subject.

What this site is not

Not Amazon. We are not operated by Amazon, not endorsed by Amazon, and not affiliated with Amazon beyond participation in the standard Amazon Associates program. If you need an authoritative answer about your account, Amazon is the authority and we link to its pages constantly for exactly that reason.

Not a procurement consultancy. We do not hold credentials in procurement, accounting or tax, and you will not find any claimed here. Where a question needs a professional — which identifier to file under, whether your organization qualifies for an exemption — we say so and stop.

Who writes it

Stephen V. writes the site. The honest framing, and the one we use everywhere:

I'm genuinely interested in how businesses buy things. I read Amazon's own terms and help pages, compile what they actually say, and do the arithmetic. No lab coat.

No credential is claimed because none is held. That is a deliberate position rather than a gap we are papering over — see the next section.

What we refuse to claim

Every guide in this category writes as though it has run the thing. We have not held a Business Prime account, and we say so.

What we did instead: read Amazon's published plan terms and help-center documentation, cite the exact page behind every factual claim, do the break-even arithmetic Amazon does not publish, and stamp the date we last checked. All of it is verifiable against the sources we link — which is the point. You should not have to take our word for a number when Amazon's own page is one click away.

So, specifically, you will not find on this site: a claim that we tested a tier, a claim to have benchmarked delivery speeds or savings, an invented average saving percentage, a credential nobody here holds, a testimonial, a star rating, or a review count. Those things do not exist for this site and inventing them would be the fastest way to deserve none of your trust.

How it is funded

Through the Amazon Associates program. If you create an Amazon Business account or sign up for Business Prime through one of our links, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you.

Three commitments that follow from that, since an affiliate site saying "it does not affect our judgment" is easy to say and worth nothing on its own:

• Every decision page names who should skip the product. Look at any of them. A site that recommends everything recommends nothing, and the sections telling readers to stay on the free account cost us money by design.
• We publish that the account is free, repeatedly and prominently. The most commercially valuable thing we could do is blur the line between the free account and the paid membership. We do the opposite on every page.
• We accept no payment for coverage. No sponsored placements, no paid ordering, no vendor money.
